The background
Moss needs shade, damp and something for its roots to grip, and a north-facing or tree-shaded roof slope in Hillingdon gives it all three. Taking the moss off is only half the job. The spores that produced it are still in the surface of the tile, and on a shaded, damp slope they will regrow within a couple of winters if nothing is done. A biocide treatment applied once the roof is clean and dry kills what is left and buys real time before the growth comes back.
It is not a permanent fix and we will not pretend it is. A north-facing slope under trees will always be the first to go green again. What the treatment does is push that out by years rather than months, and it keeps the roof looking cleaner and draining freely for longer in between.
